An exceptional weekend of vineyard country fun:
Arrive Friday afternoon/ evening to welcome drinks at Château Haut Garrigue then enjoy a delicious meal with your hosts at your Guest House 5 minutes away
Saturday morning: Walk the Saussignac Vineyard Route with a prepared picnic lunch. In the afternoon we offer you wine-tasting at Château Haut Garrigue then recommend a good siesta to prepare for a night of revelling.
Saturday evening enjoy an exceptional outdoor music concert in the fields of the Saussignac region. Dancing, fine wines and excellent music country style. The Festival des Ploucs is an experience not to be missed.
On Sunday follow the self-guided walking tour of the picturesque old town of Bergerac to take in the sights before catching your flight home.

What isn’t included:
Your flights and transport to Saussignac (we organise collection and drop-off at Gardonne station or Bergerac Airport if you prefer to travel car-free)
Your meal and drinks at Festival des Ploucs. The choice is wide so we leave you to decide what you want. You can enjoy a good meal and wine for the evening for around €20.00 per person.

Relax and discover wine in France. This wonderful 5 day break is packed with vineyard and wine-related activities. The escape includes a vineyard and winery tour, wine-tastings, bookings at fabulous restaurants, a vineyard walk and charming accommodation.
The Wine Lover's Getaway itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Bergerac or Bordeaux. Drive to Château Haut Garrigue. Welcome drinks with the owners, Seán and Caroline Feely, followed by a gourmet dinner at your Guest House.
Day 2: Wine-tasting at a neighbouring chateau. A walk through the vineyards with a picnic lunch. This is self-guided using a map and directions provided. Alternatively for those less inclined to walk we suggest a visit to St Emilion (45 minutes drive from Saussignac), a beautiful medieval village and home to many Bordeaux Grand Crus.
Day 3: A self-guided walking tour of Bergerac’s ‘medieval quarter’ or ‘old town’ including the wine museum and the Maison des Vins. Lunch at a café in Bergerac. In the afternoon a tour of the vineyard at Chateau Haut Garrigue followed by an introduction to wine-tasting and a guided wine-tasting of the range. Dinner at a fine restaurant nearby.
Day 4: A day exploring the region's wines with a personal guide including visits to two wine estates. Lunch organised en route. Dinner at a local gourmet restaurant.
Day 5: Fly home.
