A warm welcome accompanied by enthusiasm and fun all along the way: We, Caroline and Seán Feely, took the plunge to follow our dream of growing and making wine in South West France in 2005. We were welcomed by a group of exceptional winemakers, not only in the wines they make, but also in their hospitality. We soon realised that sharing this idyllic location, the exceptional people that populate it and our passion for wine and wine-making was as much fun as doing it.

'An insider's experience': We offer you a true 'insider's experience'. The winemakers we visit typically work their own vineyards and wineries and know us as friends. With us you will not be passed onto a tourism assistant but will be welcomed by the owners themselves.

Caroline Feely

Caroline is a professional with many years of presentation and training experience with multinational companies including IBM. Her wine tours, courses and presentations have been developed with utmost professionalism and passion. She has extensive practical knowledge, having successfully grown and made wine in France from the very initial work in the vineyard to putting the wine into the bottle.

Sean Feely

Seán is a passionate winegrower and maker. His practical knowledge complements his formal wine education gained through the Wine and Spirit Education Trust. Seán has experience developing courses and lecturing professionally at masters level.

How to find us

French Wine Adventures is based at Chateau Haut Garrigue on the edge of Saussignac village 1 hour 15 minutes east of Bordeaux city and 15 minutes from Bergerac in South West France. From Bordeaux follow signs to Bergerac. When you reach Gardonne (about 1 hour 10 mins from Bordeaux) turn right to Saussignac at the Renault garage. About 4kms from Gardonne the road to Saussignac crosses a district road and starts climbing. About 100m after crossing the district road take the left fork (signposted Chat La Garrigue (us). Take the next road to the left (directly before the cemetary). We are the last property on that road. If you reach Saussignac Village you have gone too far. From Saussignac village turn right at the school (also signposted Chat La Garrigue) and then right after the cemetary as you be coming from the opposite direction.
